Maybe it took the State of The Union address from President
Bush to bring the concept of Health Savings Accounts out
into the open for all to see. Whatever the case, this is an
idea and reality that is long overdue and a great solution
to health insurance for many people. Health savings
accounts, coupled with a companion low-cost high-deductible
health care insurance plan, will take the bite out of
monthly health care costs for many consumers, and provide a
powerful savings component at the same time. Let’s look at
the details.

While Congress passed the legislation creating Health
Savings Accounts in 2003, it has taken a while for the word
to get out. In a nutshell, the deal is as follows: Health
savings accounts are tax-free savings accounts, which are
necessarily paired with a high-deductible insurance policy
for catastrophic medical expenses. You are able to put as
much as $5150 (family) or $2600 (individual) annually into
these accounts, which are in turn used to cover normal and
customary medical expenses, like doctor’s visits, routine
checkups, etc. Some of the neat things about these accounts,
besides the tax-free part, are that you may carry over
unspent money from year to year, and it does not matter
where you work or for whom. They are completely portable.
Also in most cases, it’s very possible to realize large
savings on your yearly insurance and medical expenditures.
When you are in charge of how much you spend and where, the
possibilities are eye-opening. Plus, you are not tied to any
plan’s particular doctor or medical group: you are free to
choose whoever you want. Health savings accounts, when set
up properly, can not only save you lots of meony, but also
cannot be cancelled except by you.

Another enticing option regarding health savings account is
the savings aspect. If you have a traditional IRA or 401(k)
you get a deduction for all contribututions made yearly, but
after age 65 all distributions are taxed at both the federal
and state level, including capital gains. (Roth IRA’s don’t
apply) With a Health savings account you get the same
benefits as with IRA’s and 401(k)’s, with the major
difference being that monies withdrawn for qualified medical
expenses are NEVER taxed! Also, with health savings accounts
there is no age restriction on when you may withdraw funds
like there are with the others. As far as using these funds
for retirement purposes, health savings accounts are able to
be withdrawn after age 65 for any purpose, without penalty,
though in this case you would pay income taxes. This looks
even better when you realize that account appreciation on
health savings acounts is tax-free, and look even better for
those who are self-employed, who may write off 100% of
health care premiums. So in effect, you are buying a high-
deductible insurance plan, paying the premiums from your
business, and savings oodles of cash tax-free in your Health
savings account. Of course, should you become sick, you’ll
not only have the ability to pay for your care, a major
illness won’t be the family-finance disaster it often is
these days. More than 1 million Americans each year end up
in medical bankruptcy becasue of inadequate coverage. Don’t
let this happen to you!

Identifying Misconceptions

When it comes to sending their child off to college, many parents make the all too common mistake of assuming that their child will be covered under their health policy–and that their coverages and benefits will be the same while they’re away at college.

Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Many insurers still cover dependents until age 23, but many are terminating dependent coverage sooner–some as young as age 18. Furthermore, college students that attend school out-of-state may not receive all their benefits or may be charged additional fees for seeing physicians out of the insurer’s network.

So what’s a parent to do?

The Good News

Fortunately, if a student isn’t fully covered on a parent’s health insurance plan, there are affordable alternatives.

Generally speaking, college students and their parents tend to seek health plans from one of three places: the student’s college, a private health insurer or other student organizations.

The majority of colleges and universities now offer student health insurance for their attendants, which often consist of two or three policy options. While traditionally less expensive, the costs and coverages of university-sponsored health plans tend to be more fixed, which may not meet needs of students with pre-existing conditions.

Surprisingly, private health insurance for students is fairly inexpensive. Private health insurance is an especially attractive option for parents and students because it typically covers a wider range of benefits. Your chances of snagging discounts are also greater if you buy a student policy from a private insurer.

Other student health plans are available through student-help organizations like the American College Student Association (ACSA). Organizations like ACSA specialize in short-term health insurance and study abroad coverage, which is especially appealing to students wishing to travel.

Tips to Remember

Making sure the student in your life has adequate health insurance is important. As you ask questions and shop for health plans, consider the following tips:

Know the student’s needs. Does the student have allergies? A need for travel vaccines? Knowing what your student needs ahead of time will help narrow your policy options.

Know how long the student needs the coverage. Many insurers allow you to purchase policies that last anywhere from three months to a year–determine how long the student will need the policy to avoid paying for extra coverage.

The absence of any of the Health Essentials I will list can have a detrimental effect on your overall health. Some are more important that others.

What would you say the one thing that is most essential for your health?

If you said good quality food you were wrong. Most of us could survive 30 to 60 days without food. I have watched the progress of a man on a hunger strike who went over 60 days before he died of starvation.

If you said water you are getting closer. Most of us can hang in there for over 4 days without water.

You probably figured it our by now. The most important Nutritional need is Air. Most of us would have a hard time lasting more than 4 minutes without air.

The air we breathe needs to be clean. Our bodies were designed to handle a limited amount of naturally occurring pollutants in a given day. If we are assaulted by more than we were designed to handle our bodies will become overworked and could exhibit adverse symptoms.

If you live where air pollution is common or work in an environment that is polluted you should consider moving or changing jobs. The short term financial benefit to living or working in a polluted environment is not worth the long term health risks.

Note:

An individual, suffering from protein poisoning, will be far more sensitive to even normal, natural, pollutants.

Indoor air can be more polluted that the outside air. Many of us need an air purifier to clean the air. I plan to give you more information on this subject later.

There are many diseases that are related to air pollution. There are many more that are aggravated by it.

Smoking is an obvious source of toxic pollutants. A person who has clean lungs will have a violent reaction when smoke is introduced into their lungs. When you smoked your first cigarette (unless you were raised around smokers) your body told you that it did not like what you were doing. After a while it was able to tolerate the smoke. toleration, is no indicator of whether you are being harmed or not.

Temperature Maintenance

We need to maintain our body temperature. It should be obvious that we need to maintain our body temperature. If you have ever spent too much time in cold conditions without adequate clothing you know what can happen if you get too cold.

It can bring on the cleansing symptoms of a fever or a cold. Or if you get too cold it can kill.

On the other hand too much heat can kill as well. When our bodies bring on a fever as a body cleansing measure any interference can kill. Our bodies know how to maintain body temperature. Very few people actually die from a fever. Many die from the heroic measures used to lower a fever.

We need to be very careful what we do to lower a fever. It should be helpful to understand that a fever is a body instituted event designed to speed up the elimination of toxic substances from the body. If your body is not overloaded with toxic substances it is not likely that you will experience a fever.

We need to replace all the water we lose each day with pure water.

Some of the best sources of pure water are raw fruits and vegetables. Distilled water is a good option for many who need a little extra. There are other purifying processes that remove the toxins and inorganic minerals from the water.

If you need more water that you get from raw fruit and vegetables, you need to reject coffee, tea, soda, bear, and all other beverages other that pure water.

Your body uses water to transport nutrients into your body and toxins out.

The water in fruits and vegetables is loaded with good nutrition. The beverages that are available are loaded with toxins that interfere with your body in some way.

If the water you drink is already polluted with toxins, and negative nutrition, your body will have a hard time dumping the toxins, and dead cell debris, it is trying to get rid of.

Most municipal water system have chlorine and fluoride added to the water. Both are toxic. Chlorine kills the friendly bacteria and enzymes in our digestive system so even if you get enough to eat you will be malnourished. Fluoride makes the teeth brittle so they brake easier and it is very toxic.

Food

An adequate supply of living food is needed to promote a high degree of health. If your food supply consists of primarily dead (cooked and processed) foods it will be hard for your body to stay healthy.

We were designed for a specific diet. According to Genesis 1:29, that diet is raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.

It has been proven that the enzymes in Living food have a lot to do with our state of health. There are many books on this subject. One I like is “Enzyme Nutrition” by Dr. Edward Howell, available from Hallelujah Acres.

Sunshine

Like the plants we eat, we need Sunlight. One reason I recommend walking outdoors for exercise is that we need sunlight on our skin and eyes to produce vitamin D. No, Cows milk is not a good source of vitamin D. The vitamin D added to cows mild is not the same as the Vitamin D our bodies produce. Pasteurization makes it useless.

It is amazing low little skin surface area, exposed to the sun, will give us all the vitamin D we need. Also our bodies store enough vitamin D to keep us going for several days. So if you are not able to get out every day it is not a problem.

Johnson Foundation, between 7 and 8 million children under the age of 18 are living without health insurance.

While this staggering figure is down from the reported 10 million uninsured children in 1997, the CDC maintains that this still-present epidemic stifles the health and growth of America’s children. In fact, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation reports that one in three children go for an entire year without seeing a doctor.

It’s not surprising that the health of children depend, in part, on their access to the health care system. And with the rising cost of health insurance, many families are simply not able to afford health coverage–leading to missed physician appointments, skipped prescription refills and lack of immunizations for our youngsters.

The Good News

Fortunately for families and youngsters, state and federal governments are working toward insuring more of our kids. Programs like the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and Medicaid are expanding their eligibility requisites to include more children in effort to eradicate the “poor but not poor enough” trend in public health care.

Medicaid is also joining forces with state programs to provide incentives for parents to schedule checkups for their children. Health Partners of Minnesota, for example, partnered with Medicaid to send families with children ages 10, 12, 16 and 18 a postcard during the month of their birthdays to encourage a checkup. The postcard also offered children a $30 gift card to a local retailer after the completion of their checkup–adding additional incentives to put health on the forefront.

Additional Initiatives

In addition to the strides taken by Medicaid and state health programs, America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) has proposed several ideas to help children and families get the health coverage they need.

Such strides include:

Intensifying local efforts to get kids who are eligible, but not enrolled in SCHIP and other available programs.
Giving states the option to broaden state health programs to include an estimated 2 million Americans living below the poverty line but are still ineligible for state care.
Providing refundable tax credits for the estimated 15 million Americans who do not meet public healthcare requirements.
Providing bridge loans to help middle-class workers maintain health coverage after becoming unemployed, helping to reduce insurance gaps.

Protecting Future Generations

It’s clear that children without health insurance remain at greater risk for disease, prolonged illness and lack of healthcare. While there’s still a great deal of work that needs to be done, the abovementioned incentives and public programs are working to make a major dent in the population of uninsured kids.

Also, this plan involves no monthly premiums and you pay the doctor only at the time of the visit. On the flip side, this plan is expensive if you want to cover your family members as well.

Once you have decided upon the plan, compare a few individual policies to assess their coverage. The best way to do this is to get online quotes. Check for the coverage options and the benefits they provide. In case your friends too have bought individual health coverage, discuss with them their satisfaction level and the drawbacks, if any. We don’t need Health Reform. We need a health revolution.
We hear the cry for health reform, and affordable health insurance. However that is not the real problem. The world health system is based on theories that have been proven false. That is why we have such a health crisis in our world.

The entire system is designed around the mistaken notion that if you create an opposite disease, you will counteract the disease you are fighting. So in an effort to fight disease they give sick people (who are overloaded with toxic chemicals) highly toxic chemicals, in an effort to fight disease.

Surgeons do much the same thing. Something in the body is malfunctioning. So they cut it out, to save the whole. It is a noble thought. However why not remove the cause.

If your water line brakes in your home, do you try to repair it without turning off the water? No, you turn off the water supply, repair the damage, then you turn the water back on.

Symptoms are like the leak in the pipe. They are the evidence of a problem with the body. Finding the valve and turning it off is like finding the cause of your disease and removing the cause. Once your stop causing disease, your body can heal itself.

If you have a splinter in your finger, would you smash your big toe to make your finger stop hurting? No, you would pull the splinter out.

If your body is overloaded with toxic chemicals, does it make sense to dump more toxic chemicals into your body? Would it not make more sense to help your body remove the toxins.

No matter what you hear on TV commercials, only the body can heal.

To eliminate the Health Care Crisis in our world we have to STOP fighting symptoms. We have to START removing CAUSE.

The ancient Chinese doctors used to charge only when the patient was well. If the client got sick they used to charge nothing to make them better.

Think about it. We spend trillions of dollars on health insurance, and the fight against disease symptoms.

Would it make more sense to pay the doctors a monthly fee when we are well to teach us how to stay well, then make them absorb the costs if they fail. If their expensive treatments and magic potions were their expense, not the patients, don’t you think they would try harder to get it right.

As long as we pay them for failure, they will continue to fail. If the only way your doctor can make money is if you get sick, what incentive do they have to keep you well?

We have created a monster. The majority of our people are blinded to the truth. You cannot be poisoned into health. You simply cannot be poisoned into health. No way. No How, It simply is not possible.!

The only solution to our health crisis is to teach people how to live so they do not create disease. Health care and the productions of disease causing products together are the largest industries in the world.

Governments are funded by business. There is no incentive for our government to step in and make a difference. They are willingly blinded by their need for money for all their programs.

We the people will have to demand the truth. It will be hard to see. The bulk of the literature on the subject is so immersed in the failed world health system, that though the truth is there it is hard to see.

We faught for our independence from tyrany and won in 1776.

2006 looks like a good year for a Health Revolution to me.
